Texas Cities Dominate Bloomberg's List of Fastest Growing Cities


Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington makes Bloomberg's list as one of America's fastest-growing cities.  Dominating the list was the great state of Texas!

Immigration, despite the tortured national debate emanating from Washington, has always been about people seeking better opportunities. Within U.S. borders, Americans are also in search of a better life, one they may find across state lines. Bloomberg Rankings sorted through U.S. Census data for metropolitan areas to rank those with the greatest population growth, then scored areas on growth in gross domestic product, adjusted for inflation. Combine the two scores and winnow the list to regions with more than 1 million residents, and you have American’s fastest-growing cities.

The Dallas Farmers Market Gets Broad Support

Just minutes from Museum Tower, the Farmers Market gets the go ahead for a needed renovation.  For 60 years, the Dallas Farmers Market has provided Dallasites with fresh fruit, vegetables, and the feeling of a small town in a big city. Open 362 days a year, rain or shine, the Dallas Farmers Market only closes its door for Thanksgiving, New Years Day and Christmas Day. However, in recent years, the market has seen underperformance issues and a slowdown of customers.

Thursday Night Live at the DMA

Just two blocks away from Museum Tower, the Dallas Museum of Art is jazzing up Thursday nights with live music, guest lectures and activities in the Center for Creative Connections.

To celebrate the second annual Dallas Jazz Appreciation Month, every Thursday from 6:00-8:00 pm, the DMA will host local jazz musicians in the Atrium. Jazz in the Atrium will highlight the works of jazz legends and musical

Klyde Warren Park will showcase a series of jazz concerts beginning tonight, Thursday, April 25, and continuing through Thursday, May 16.  Bring a blanket, snack at the food trucks and enjoy an evening in the Park.
Sponsored by Chase and produced by Uptown Jazz Dallas, this set of four concerts is part of the Park’s Thursday Night music series.  This Thursday, the series debuts with the Grammy Award-winning Spyro Gyra, an American Jazz

DMA Lectures and Conversations

The Dallas Museum of Art never fails to bring the world of art closer to the people of Dallas. With its Lectures and Conversations program, the DMA presents artists, scholars and art world leaders. Lecture admission is $5 per person unless otherwise noted while Late Night Lectures are free. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 214-922-1818 or online.  Online purchases must be made before 3:00 p.m. on the day of the event.  After 3:00 p.m. tickets can be purchased at the Visitors Service Desk.
