One of R&B music's most beloved and consistently popular vocal groups, The Whispers began their legendary and timeless career in 1963. Their vocal style harkens back to a more genteel era of crooning, preferring soft pillow talk and songs that speak to heartfelt emotions. They'll be joined by Stephanie Mills, an R&B singer known for starring on Broadway in The Wiz.

It was November 28th, 1942. It had been almost a year since the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Americans were busy with the war effort and praying for their boys "over there." On this particular night Boston was alive with excitement as Boston College battled Holy Cross College on the football field. Cocoanut Grove, the popular, swank Boston nightclub was hopping with nearly 1,000 diners; students fresh from the game, servicemen on a weekend pass, newlyweds celebrating the beginning of their new lives, and even a Hollywood cowboy making the rounds to promote his upcoming film. In the midst of such gaiety, who could have predicted that a split second mistake and greed could spark an inferno that would claim 492 lives, changing fire safety forever.

The electrical grid has fallen, and society has crumbled. On a dangerous, electric-less night, a mismatched group of strangers gather round an isolated campfire, trying to recall an episode of The Simpsons. A paean to live theater, and to the resilience of Bart Simpson through the ages, Mr. Burns is an animated exploration of how the pop culture of one era might evolve into the mythology of another.
