News and Views: Today's Healthy Real Estate Market

Dallas, Texas
Continued growth, low interest rates and a slow but steady rise in inventory levels are supporting a strong real estate market throughout the North Texas area.

For the last 18 months, existing home prices in the Dallas area have been on the rise. While gains continue, the rate of price increases is starting to slow. Practically everyone that purchased property in Dallas a year ago has already earned unrealized equity.

In Dallas, we’re finally starting to see a slight improvement in inventory levels. Right now, there’s a 2.6-month supply of homes—still low, considering that a 6-month supply is balanced—but it’s an improvement over a historic low of 2.1 months in January.

In the northern suburbs of Plano, Frisco and McKinney, demand continues to outpace supply thanks to several corporate relocations underway and on the drawing board.

Meanwhile, in the downtown Dallas area, the luxury high rise market has risen as high as the buildings themselves. Many suburban homeowners are downsizing in space while upgrading their everyday lifestyle to be in the city.

As for Museum Tower Dallas, demand continues to grow as more homes are sold each month. In fact, more families have purchased homes at Museum Tower Dallas than at any other luxury high rise in the city. With over 35% of the building sold, the community of Museum Tower Dallas is continuing to grow strongly and steadily, much like the overall real estate trends for the entire Dallas market.

For more specific information about the Dallas real estate market, check out the article that ran in the New York Times.

"I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder." [G.K. Chesterton]

The holidays are near. With Thanksgiving only one week away, Museum Tower Dallas would like to take a moment to extend holiday wishes to all of our residents and express our gratitude at being the center of such a wonderful community in an extraordinary city. In the spirit of the season, we've hand-picked everything from the most sensational tablescapes to autumn cocktails and gourmet recipes to assist and inspire as you prepare for an exceptional holiday. This year, whether you're celebrating intimately with close friends and family or hosting an elegant gathering, Museum Tower Dallas is at your service for a seamless Thanksgiving.

For the Hospitable Hostess with the Top-Notch Table
Hosting Thanksgiving at home sweet home Museum Tower Dallas? We know that the holidays can be stressful which is why we've shared our favorite décor, gourmet recipes and best entertaining tips below.

Tablescapes to Impress
Whether traditional or modern, creating a beautiful tablescape requires a keen eye for color, rich textures and lush foliage. Experienced designers will advise you to manipulate scale, incorporate nature and layer elements for a polished, stunning dining setting.

This season, we love the below table setting inspiration courtesy of the talented and always creative, Kimberly Schlegel Whitman.

Here, the vibrant fall flowers, monogrammed linen napkins, tartan tablecloth and Royal Crown Derby Old Avesbury China unite for a flawless Friendsgiving Table. Take a cue from Dallas blogger, Whitman, and don't be afraid to experiment with non-traditional colors and prints. And, be sure to include festive name cards or monograms for a personalized touch!

We love the rich earthy tones of this tablecloth paired with the soft, blush glasses and unique Seletti Hybrid Collection Plates. The inclusion of fruit, foliage and flowers also creates a sense of completeness. The texture and color of the rich pomegranate seeds effortlessly provide a cozy, seasonal feeling for this Thanksgiving Harvest Table amid the exotic, Mediterranean tones. Notice that your table need not be complex to be entirely elegant.

Visit Real Simple for additional ideas and tips on upgrading and refreshing your Thanksgiving Table this year. From gilded fruits and autumnal centerpieces to monochromatic settings with energizing pops of color, discover your unique entertaining style.

Festive Food and Drink
What would Thanksgiving be without the juicy roast turkey, buttery mashed potatoes, and freshly baked pumpkin pie? Well, still a wonderful opportunity to dwell on our many blessings but not nearly as delicious a day.

Plan your upcoming holiday menu with Bon Appetit's Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast Headquarters, a comprehensive list of tried and true gourmet recipes along with scrumptious, seasonal libations. Food and Wine also presents wonderful Thanksgiving ideas for every part of your meal. From wine pairing insight to essential turkey basting tips, your feast will be unsurpassed. For even more fall cocktails and mouth-watering recipes, visit Saveur's Thanksgiving Recipe Guide.

At Museum Tower Dallas, every day is never everyday. As such, our standards are above the ordinary. The kitchen of every high rise home is completely furnished with German-engineered Miele stove tops, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and even wine coolers. Smart, seamless and saavy, these beautiful appliances match progressive kitchen trends and performance surpasses the average. The unique roasting feature lends itself perfectly to preparing our favorite holiday bird. This Thanksgiving, spend more time at the table and less in the kitchen with the help of these incredible appliances.

We would also like to remind our residents that our 24/7 concierge is happy to pick up and deliver to your doorstep all the groceries and ingredients you require to prepare your Thanksgiving meal. Avoid the crowded stores, hustle and bustle and allow Museum Tower Dallas to simplify your holiday. It would be our pleasure. Or, if you prefer to do your own shopping, we suggest a short trip to the Dallas Farmers Market for fresh, seasonal produce.

For the Polished Guest with Perfect Etiquette
Spending Thanksgiving away from home this year graciously dining at the home of family or friends? Allow us to assist you in everything from travel arrangements to curating the best hostess gifts.

Museum Tower Car Service

Whether you're visiting a friend down the street or jetting off to the airport to catch a flight, you won't have to deal with driving or parking. Your life, made easier.

Giving Thanks: A Unique Hostess Gift
We believe that good manners are the most elegant form of politeness. What better way to express your appreciation for holiday hospitality than through a generous hostess gift? While monogrammed hand towels, luxe candles and freshly baked pumpkin pies are all wonderful gestures, we would encourage residents to show thanks in a new way this year.

In the spirit of the giving season, we suggest a more conscious approach to gift giving in making charitable donations. Bring more happiness and meaning to the season this year by giving to a charity of your choice and making a real difference in the world. There are so many charities in this community that deserve support one being North Texas Food Bank. This year, they've unveiled Holidays Without Hunger: The North Texas Food Bank Gift Giving Guide. Your generosity will put food on the table for children, families and seniors in need. No matter your organization of choice, charitable giving is a truly thoughtful gift and an expression of what the season is all about.

On behalf of all of us at Museum Tower Dallas, we wish our residents a truly happy Thanksgiving and holiday season!

Unlike any other piece ever written for the cello, this is a performance guaranteed to take your breath away.

November 21 through November 23

Principal Pops Conductor, Jeff Tyzik, celebrates the music and musicians who define one of America's greatest art forms in The Golden Age of Jazz. Despite the Great Depression and WWII, enormous strides were made in music. Celebrate the talent of individuals like Armstrong, Calloway and Brubek as you listen to smooth sounds that soothe the soul.

The Dallas Opera Presents

The Marriage of Figaro
November 7 through November 9

See it before it's gone! Figaro loves Susanna, but he's not the only one. Join the Dallas Opera for this wildly romantic, comedic opera.

Salome
November 5 through November 8

Once in a while, the term "over the top" doesn't seem nearly high enough. A king's unbridled lust and his stepdaughter's obsession with John the Baptist combine with explosive force in this lushly passionate rendering of Oscar Wilde's play, set in ancient Judea. Salome is a work that requires a phenomenal cast and the Dallas Opera delivers. Salome is a wonderful addition to the 2014/2015 Heights of Passion Season.
