FRIDAY, JANUARY 15

Start your weekend right by celebrating! Make a toast to the DMA at their annual birthday party celebration and enjoy the closing weekend of International Pop, a collection which follows the emergence of Pop during the 1960s and early 1970s. Tickets are $15 and free for DMA members.

8 PM
The critically acclaimed Uptown Players and The Turtle Creek Chorale are thrilled to present a concert version of Tim Rice and Elton John’s beloved Aida. Aida details a captivating love triangle of loyalty of betrayal between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love. With a combined cast of 100 actors and singers, this musical collaboration showcases the best artistic talent in Dallas.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 16

11 AM – 5 PM
The work of Alex Israel exhibits the eccentricities of his native Los Angeles and his love of film. For this exhibition at the Nasher Sculpture Center, he presents new sculptures and paintings that relate to his first feature length film, SPF- 18, currently in production.

Home to the world premiere of Clarkston, the Wyly Theatre will immerse you in the world of this humorous and innovative play. Away from the Lewis and Clark trail, the lives of a writer and a descendant of William Clark intersect as they stock televisions and cheese puffs at Costco. In a story filled with both comedy and compassion, the men move toward an uncertain future where they learn the importance of their journey.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 17

12 PM – 5 PM
Creatures of Light: Nature's Bioluminescence explores the natural phenomenon of ‘living light’ with multiple organisms, from fireflies to the deep-sea monsters in our oceans’ darkest depths. The ability to generate light is rare of land animals; however, up to 90 percent of animals at depths below 2,300 feet provide the only source of light for Earth’s vast oceans.

6 PM
After the Mavs frustrating loss against the Cavaliers, they are set to take on The San Antonio Spurs in their toughest week of the season. Come cheer on your home team in this exciting game.
