If you hear champagne corks popping
in the Arts District, look a few blocks to the east of Museum Tower in the direction of the Dallas Theater Center.
The DTC will be well represented at
the 58th Annual Drama Desk Awards to be held May 19th in New York.
Its original production “Giant” just garnered the lion’s share of nominations,
nine total, including “Outstanding Musical,” and nods to Kate
Baldwin for “Outstanding Actress in a Musical” and Brian d’Arcy James, for “Outstanding Actor in a Musical.”
The play, based on the iconic novel
by Edna Ferber, debuted in January 2012 at the Wyly Theatre then made its way to
The Public Theater in New York where it drew critical acclaim.
