Let Someone Else Cook For Christmas

After putting out a list of restaurants open for Thanksgiving, CultureMap Dallas had done it again for Christmas.  See CultureMap's suggestions below to keep your Museum Tower kitchen clean.

Fearing's
The highlights: Christmas Eve dinner is a fixed three-course holiday menu with a selection of seasonal starters (such as lobster bisque and Hudson Valley foie gras duo) and main courses
(such as Peking duck à l'orange or prime rib-eye), followed by a dessert trio and take-home cookies. Dinner seatings are from 5-8:30 pm.

Canary By Gorji

The highlights: A three-course dinner with a salad of mixed field greens with pomegranate vinaigrette and toasted almonds; turkey or pork chop with pomegranate citrus sauce, pistachio fig dressing, mashed potatoes and vegetables; and pumpkin or pecan pie. Available Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 5 to 9:30 pm.

The highlights: For this Christmas Eve three-course prix fixe holiday dinner, choose from starters such as shrimp and lobster chowder or roasted Brussels sprouts with cranberries in bacon maple vinaigrette; main courses such as savory pumpkin risotto, roasted strip loin with triple-cooked fries or pan-seared sea bass; and desserts such as mint and chocolate Yule log, upside-down pineapple spice cake or New York-style cheesecake. Cook Hall

The highlights: Cook Hall offers a three-course, fixed-price menu on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Appetizers include deviled eggs with gulf blue crab, chopped salad with grilled shrimp, or butternut squash soup with oyster mushrooms. Entrees are crispy halibut with roasted Brussels sprouts and spiced apple jus; grilled filet with potato confit, Swiss chard and Madeira sauce; or lamb chops with mushroom Bolognese and Pecorino. Desserts options include orange Bundt cake with cranberries or chocolate pudding with glazed kumquats and shortbread cookie.

Pyramid Restaurant (Christmas brunch)

The highlights: The Fairmont hotel restaurant is doing a Christmas brunch with omelets, carved meats and decadent desserts. Enjoy crab cake eggs Benedict, pecan and toffee sticky buns, roasted turkey, and more. The meal comes with a complimentary mimosa or sparkling wine. Brunch seating times include 10:30 am, 11 am, 1 pm or 1:30 pm.

Pyramid Restaurant (Christmas dinner)

The highlights: For this special fixed-price dinner menu on Christmas Day, executive chef Brian Armstrong is doing roasted turkey, roasted Niman Ranch prime rib, seared cobia, spinach and stuffed ricotta agnolotti, and deconstructed eggnog cheesecake. Dinner is available between 6 and 10 pm.

The highlights: Christmas Day brunch in the Crystal Ballroom with an all-you-can-eat feast featuring breakfast and seafood stations and a hot carving station with beef tenderloin, honey glazed ham, turkey, pork loin, salmon, chicken and more. Served from 10:30 am to 2 pm.

Ser

The highlights: The Hilton Anatole steakhouse is serving a four-course dinner Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Starters include quail, crab cake, steak tartare or grilled ciabatta panzanella; second course is soup (lobster or squash red curry bisque) or salad (wedge or arugula). For main courses, choose porchetta, beef filet, lamb, salmon or chicken breast. Dessert options include coconut cream pie, Valhrona fondant with “Snickers” cream or pumpkin pie cheesecake. Served 5-9 pm both nights.

Spoon

The highlights: Chef John Tesar offers a special Feast of the Seven Fishes tasting menu on Christmas Eve. The meal, which is a longstanding Italian tradition, features seven courses of fresh seafood from waters around the globe. The dinner is available from 5 to 10 pm. In addition, Spoon’s also offers its a la carte menu.
Price per person: $125 with optional wine pairings for an additional $75
