A celebration of life in the heart of Dallas

A wildlife adventure awaits you Saturday, March 29

Tucked outside of downtown Dallas nearby Joppa Preserve, it's one of the city's best kept secrets. Which is surprising, given that it spans nearly 7,000 acres.

Mystery, magic and wonder

The Great Trinity Forest is the largest urban hardwood forest in America. This Saturday, March 29 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., you and your family have the opportunity to learn more about this natural wonder on an insightful guided exploration.

Dr. Gail Thomas, president and CEO of The Trinity Trust and recent recipient of the 2014 J. Erik Jonsson Ethics Award, will lead a morning discussion and afternoon walk through the forest. Lunch is included with admission.

On hour before Dr. Thomas' discussion at 9:00 a.m., a mindful session of yoga suitable for the whole family to enjoy will be provided by Equinox on the deck of the Trinity River Audubon Center.

You might just be astounded by the wildlife that exists just a 15-minute drive from your Museum Tower Dallas high-rise. Wild turkeys, raccoons and beautiful bird species such as great blue herons and painted buntings are said to live here undisturbed.

The Dallas Institute proudly presents this magical wildlife adventure in partnership with The Trinity Trust and the Trinity River Audubon Center.
