This weekend in Dallas: April 4 - April 6

April is a bursting month of celebration in Dallas. Hundreds of events rightfully spotlight the city's vibrant culture and the arts. This first weekend in April also welcomes student-athletes, fans and big name musicians for the NCAA Final Four's ancillary events.

MTV REDEFINE Art + Rock 'n' Roll

Friday, April 4 - 7:00 p.m. 

MTV REDEFINE presents its third annual charity art auction and gala at Dallas Contemporary. See more than 100 works from local and international globally-renowned artists like Michael Mazurek and Damien Hirst.

Alexander Gilkes, co-founder of Paddle 8, hosts the auction. Artist Richard Phillips brings a live music curation featuring Starred. The event benefits both the Dallas Contemporary and MTV Staying Alive Foundation.

Dallas Arts Week 
Multiple events, multiple venues 
Saturday, April 5

Dallas Arts Week will feature more than 80 events throughout Dallas from Saturday, April 5 - Sunday, April 13. Dallas Arts Week commences with ARTsPARK, a family-friendly festival of arts and culture held at NorthPark Center with plenty of live performances to see and activities to do.

Other events coinciding with Dallas Arts Week include the 20th anniversary of the three-day Deep Ellum Music and Arts Festival and the Dallas International Film Festival. See a complete list of Dallas Arts Week events by clicking here.


Larger than life exhibit at the Perot Museum
World's Largest Dinosaurs

Sunday, April 6 - 12:00 p.m. 

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science opens its giant new exhibit featuring the largest dinosaurs to ever roam the land. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a life-size model of the fascinating Mamencisaurus, fossils and insights to how the massive creatures functioned.

With five floors of exhibits, a theater showing 3D films and a cafe on site, there's plenty more to discover at the Perot Museum, which is walking distance from Museum Tower.
