With activities in every wing of the museum there's going to be quite a celebration at the Crow Collection of Asian Art.
This Friday, May 16 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight, the Crow Collection is commemorating Japan's Golden Week with live music, a documentary film, art activities and your chance to welcome good fortune.
Honored April 29 and May 3-5 in the Land of the Rising Sun, Golden Week is a string of public holidays that fall within seven days. It is considered one of the busiest holiday seasons for both travel and consumerism in Japan.
Friday's nighttime event at the Crow Collection is deemed Mid-May Merriment as it marks the halfway point of the museum's celebration of 31 Days of Asia. The Crow Collection has curated special programs and events since May 1, bringing other unique festivals happening throughout the Asian continent right outside your door from Museum Tower. This month is also Asian-Pacific Heritage Month, celebrated widely throughout the States.
