Dallas Summer Musicals Presents Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella

An Evening with Mona Golabek

American concert pianist Mona Golabek, who was born and grew up in Los Angeles, is the daughter of survivors, Lisa and Michele Golabek. Mona is a Grammy Award nominee who has appeared with orchestras all over the world and wrote her mother’s story in The Children of Willesden Lane, co-authored by Lee Cohen. In 2012, Mona made her debut at the Los Angeles Geffen Playhouse in The Pianist of Willesden Lane, adapted from the book. The “Children of Willesden Lane” benefiting the Dallas Holocaust Museum is a custom performance of the story.

Center Presents Johnny Mathis

Celebrating his 58th year in the music industry, Johnny Mathis is Columbia Records longest running artist. A sublime vocalist whose approach to pop music eclipses passing fads and trends, Mathis has performed songs in an incredible variety of styles and categories – from music composed for stage and film to golden era jazz standards, contemporary pop hits, and holiday music, all of which has assured his reputation as one of the most enduring vocalists in music history. Experience Mathis live on Thursday, June 11 at Winspear Opera House as he returns to Dallas to perform some of his greatest hits and personal favorites.

The Baby Boomer Comedy Show is 90 minutes of hilarious clean stand-up comedy focusing on work, family, do-it-yourself projects and many other topics that baby boomers and their families can relate to! Comedians Jan McInnis and Kent Rader are both baby boomers who have spent the past 18 years performing for thousands of business groups, nonprofit organizations and other professional events. They have combined their acts to bring you this hysterical evening of laughs. If you want a great night out on the town with friends, family or co-workers then this is the perfect way to laugh, relax and connect with others.

One Day University: Executive Edition

Ready to go back to school? One Day University is a stimulating day packed with plenty of new learning opportunities. The pace of the day is brisk and when you reach the end, there are no grades, no tests and no homework. In this edition, professors from the University of Texas at Austin, Stanford Graduate School of Business and Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business present executive topics that will shed insight on how to better negotiate and anticipate the future.

Neil deGrasse Tyson: An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies

Neil deGrasse Tyson, who holds the distinction of being voted “sexiest astrophysicist” by People magazine in 2000, will entertain and enlighten the audience with his recap of all the science that our favorite movies - from Star Wars to Gravity - got wrong, and some things they got right. His appearance #NearbyMuseumTower is part of the inaugural #thinkspeak season.

Bruce Wood Dance Project – 5 Years
Dallas City Performance Hall

This event is not to be missed. It will be an evening filled with unexpected drama, amazing athleticism and innovative artistry. Acting Artistic Director Kimi Nikaidoh channels the momentum into new works and dancers, while also shining the light on Bruce’s unforgettable repertoire.

Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy

The groundbreaking and critically acclaimed Broadway hit will heat up Dallas this summer with Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy. Created and directed by renown theatrical and circus impresario Neil Goldberg, Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy is an exotic encounter inspired by nature’s unpredictable creations that are brought to life by an international cast of soaring aerialists, spine-bending contortionists, acrobats, jugglers and musicians. Shawn Saumell: Ascension

Shawn explores how photography shapes the way we perceive reality. His “landscapes” are otherwordly scenes researched, designed, sculpted from various materials, assembled from found objects, painted, composed, and then photographed. Elements of the natural world exist somewhere between fantasy and actuality, as the familiar and unfamiliar are joined to create dream worlds made real and credible by photography.

The galleries in the Amazing Animals: Built to Survive exhibition involves exploration into learning how living creatures cope with the never-ending race to remain alive. Summer at the Arboretum
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

The flowers and exhibits are in full bloom across 66 acres of pure wondrous nature at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Summer at the Arboretum features Family Fun Fridays, which include face painting, a petting zoo, nature art and Kindermusik. This year’s performing acts of the Cool Thursday Concert Series include several new and exciting national cover bands and some of the best food trucks in town!

Voly in the Park
Klyde Warren Park

Lending a helping hand and supporting the community is always in season. Voly in the Park is the state's largest celebration of volunteerism and it takes place right next door to Museum Tower at our favorite urban green space, Klyde Warren Park. Connect with a cause that resonates with you by exploring more than 70 of the area's top nonprofits. There will be plenty of entertainment, including non-stop music, dance and entertaining presentations from the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and the Dallas Zoo.

ARTcation Summer Camp
Crow Collection of Asian Art

The ultimate interactive cultural experience perfectly suited for children of all ages is just steps away from Museum Tower! The Crow Collection of Asian Art’s ARTcation Summer Camp will fully immerse children in Asian culture through yoga, art-making and cuisine. World-Class Destinations #NearbyMuseumTower

The museums immediately surrounding Museum Tower have special activities planned for the ultimate, fun-filled summer block party. Enjoy music, film screenings, outdoor concerts and guided tours. The best part? Admission is free no matter where you party hop. Of course Dallas’ best food trucks will line the streets #NearbyMuseumTower and there will be plenty of interactive games to keep you entertained.

Sleepover at the Perot
Perot Museum of Nature and Science

This is an experience children will never forget – dozing with the dinosaurs! Children can go behind the scenes at the Perot Museum, located just a half mile from Museum Tower, with after-hours access to intriguing exhibits, exclusive demonstrations and hands-on discovery. Reunion Lawn Party
Reunion Park

Through September 2015, Reunion Tower will host the Reunion Lawn Party on the last Saturday of every month. The fun will take place at Reunion Park, located near the base of the tower. The party kicks off at 5:00 p.m. and features live music, food trucks, a beer garden, lawn games and much more!

Tango in the Park
Klyde Warren Park

Put on your best dancing shoes and take the short walk to Klyde Warren Park from Museum Tower for Tango in the Park. A free introductory tango lesson begins at 5:30 p.m., then you’ll be witness to a phenomenal dance performance. The dance floor will remain open to all until 10:00 p.m. as a live DJ spins a mix of traditional and alternative tango music.

Exhilarating live horse racing has returned! This year, Lone Star Park hosts its 19th spring season of live thoroughbred racing. Well into the blissful summer, there will be plenty of entertainment at the track including live musical performances by notable artists.
