Summer at the Perot Museum

As the temperatures rise the Perot Museum of Nature and Science entices guests with cool new exhibitions including the temporary summer exhibit, Recycle Reef, programs for all ages, 3D films and extended hours.

 

 




 

Recycle Reef

Recycle Reef, the Museum's summer temporary exhibit, will allow visitors to actually participate in building the exhibit from the ground up! Plus, by using recyclable materials, Recycle Reef will bring "being green" to a whole new level.

Waking the T. Rex: The Story of SUE 3D
It's a step back to the Cretaceous period - revealing SUE, the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex ever found - like you've never known her before. Witness how present-day paleontologist hunt for dinosaurs, how SUE was discovered in the badlands of South Dakota in 1990, and how her skeleton was excavated and reassembled.

Wildest Weather in the Solar System 3D
Witness the most powerful and mysterious weather phenomena in our solar system - from a relentless hurricane that's raged on Jupiter for more tan 400 years, to the electrical storms of Saturn's "Storm Alley," where lightening strikes are 100 times more powerful than those on Earth. Travel alongside a fictitious planetary spacecraft whose journey begins at the sun and continues to the outer reaches of our solar system.

Discovery Days takes second Saturday science into fully blast this summer. Enjoy interactive family fun while exploring seriously scientific themes the second Saturday of every month.

  • Let's Rock! Discover Stones, Gems and Minerals, July 13, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Aerial Views: Discover Life in the Air, August 10, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Are evening hours and scientific talks what you're looking for? First Thursday Late Nights are great time for adults and older children to explore the Perot Museum and enjoy special programming in Lab Remix from 7:00-9:00 p.m. June 6 and August 1, 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Adult
For adults 21+, Social Science, adults-only, after hours program is just for you. These popular programs have seen sold-out crowds in the past, so get your tickets early
  • Social Science: Relationships, June 21, 7:00-11:00 p.m.
Looking for a more intimate scientific chat? A little Science Café is what you need. This summer's topic will be inspired by Recycle Reef. Like the Museum on Facebook and follow them on Twitter for announcement of date, location and details.

Monthly First Thursday Late Nights are great time for adults to explore the Perot Museum and enjoy special programming in Lab Remix from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Child/Early Childhood

The ever-popular early childhood program fill quickly with parents grooming their little ones up to age five to be the scientists of tomorrow. Select classes are still available for the summer. View openings, and plan ahead for fall registration online!
