If you have kids, grand kids or friends visiting, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science will make sure they have blast.

This weekend, the Perot thrills all with its Let's Rock Discovery Day. All ages are invited to discover stones, gems and minerals on Saturday, July 13. Earth science comes to life through interactive experiments,
demonstrations, and presentations with guest experts. Roll like a rock, rock 'n roll and learn fun ways to protect our beautiful Earth though creative challenges inspired by Recycle Reef. Discovery Days are free for Museum members and included in the cost of general admission for non-members.

Saturday, July 20, grab all the kids and head to the Perot's Moody Family Children's Museum for Countries, Cultures and Kids or Art Lab. Specifically designed for children ages 5 and under, the Children's Museum entertains the young and young at heart. July's Countries, Cultures and Kids is a Fairy Tale summer featuring a Le Theatre de Marionette performance of "Hansel and Gretel" at 11:00 a.m. Following the performance, children can make a puppet of their own using a paper bag and craft supplies. In Art Lab explore creativity and science with your child through professionally guided hands-on projects. Admission for both programs is included in the cost of a general admission ticket to the Perot Museum.

If you have a friend visiting, make sure to stop by Science Café on Wednesday, July 31. Taking place at the Union Bear in West village, this Science Café will be lead by Dr. Sean J. Morrison, Director of the Children's Research Institute at UT Southwestern. The discussion will focus on stem cell research. Union Bear will offer food and drink specials for event attendees. Science Café is free and no ticket is necessary. Only 21 and up allowed.
