The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes

The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes brings this world to life as never before as you step into Conan Doyle’s Victorian London and work side-by-side with his legendary detective, Sherlock Holmes. You will become Holmes’ eyes and ears as he tackles a baffling new case in a world steeped in innovation and experimentation. Along the way you’ll see a dazzling array of original manuscripts, publications, period artifacts, film and television props and costumes. You’ll learn to use investigative tools and techniques from Holmes himself, and test yourself with exciting, interactive crime-solving opportunities.

Spring Concert Series

The premier concert series, Cool Thursdays at the Dallas Arboretum sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, will return to the Dallas Arboretum on April 9. Don’t miss this exciting new 2015 lineup! The series includes eight new bands featuring tributes to musical greats such as Elton John, Billy Joel and Buddy Holly. And you can still enjoy the crowd-pleasing favorites including Emerald City, Bruce in the USA and Le Freak, just to name a few. Start planning your gourmet picnic, or lighten the load and get your dinner from some of the best food trucks in Dallas. The heart of the festival is the Eco Expo where exhibitors will use their presence to promote their achievements as green leaders, and teach attendees how to take environmentally responsible action by better utilizing available resources, switching to eco-friendly products, or joining their organizations.

Floats, ballet folklorico dancers, marching bands and a car show are among the sights to see at this parade and festival. The event benefits the Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts’ program and will take place on May 2 on Jefferson Boulevard in Oak Cliff. Experience the unique cultural heritage of Mexico with music, dance, food and activities that express and represent the spirit of Cinco de Mayo.

SOLUNA: International Music & Arts Festival

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents the first annual SOLUNA: International Music & Arts Festival to be held May 4-24, 2015, in the Dallas Arts District. Anchored by DSO performances led by Music Director Jaap van Zweden, the three-week Soluna: International Music and Arts Festival will showcase internationally-acclaimed guest soloists, artists and ensembles in visual and performing arts along with the leading companies and ensembles based in the Dallas Arts District. This year's theme is Destination: America in honor of the artists who came to America to create amidst its overwhelming freedom and inspired by a quintessentially optimistic view that is central to the American experience. Homegrown Music and Arts Festival

Dallas’ first all local music and arts outdoor festival, now expanded to include many great bands with ties to Texas, continues to prove itself an annual celebration of Homegrown music, art and fun. This year it will again feature 12 acts with ties to the state of Texas performing many genres and styles of music on two main stages. The 6th Annual Homegrown Festival will once again fill vibrant downtown Dallas with music and art at Main Street Garden Park on Saturday May 9th. The lush lawns, gardens and fountains scream music festival especially if you throw in live art demonstrations, a dog park, and local vendors selling art, wares, food and beverages.

Summer at the Arboretum

On May 16, 2015, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden will launch Summer at the Arboretum through July 31. Under the canopy of the Pecan Grove, the focal point for the festival, will be topiary Flower Houses that create a serene themed village. Celebrate the beauty and excitement of summer with activities for the whole family and acres of vibrant color throughout the Dallas Arboretum.
