HISTORIC FAIR PARK
This Friday marks the seasonal opening of the State Fair of Texas, a staple of Texas culture. Celebrate 129 years of "Lone Star Tradition" with friends, family and endless options of deep-fried food! The State Fair of Texas is located just two miles east of downtown Dallas in historic Fair Park.  Fair Park is easily accessible from all directions and even has a DART Station at the main entrance. KLYDE WARREN PARK
The inaugural food and wine event at Klyde Warren Park will celebrate the Dallas dining scene with a Texas-sized grand tasting, cooking demos, live music, and VIP experiences. Friday night will feature a chef competition with guest judges like Food Network Star, Amanda Freitag, and Dallas Stars player, Tyler Seguin, as well as bites from Jonathan Waxman in the VIP lounge at Savor Gastropub. Endless imaginative creations from participating chefs and mixologists and conversations with master sommeliers will fill your Saturday afternoon at the Park. The event will also feature live music from the Paul Thorn Band and wine, beer, and spirits tastings. Park & Palate’s Grand Tasting offers a Texas-sized showcase of more than 30 chefs and 30 wineries, plus beer, spirits and craft cocktails, lifestyle activations, and live cooking demonstrations throughout the day.

MURDER FOR TWO 


OFF BROADWAY on 2520 FLORA ST.
To kick off the second year of its Off Broadway on Flora Series, AT&T Performing Arts Center will welcome in Murder for Two. The play, running at Dallas City Performance Hall through Saturday, reinvents the classic murder mystery with the story of the untimely demise of a novelist that sparks a ribald investigation, with a variety of suspects who are each more entertaining than the last.This hilarious show has been nominated for Outstanding Musical by the Drama Desk, Outstanding Production of a Musical by the Drama League and Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical by the Outer Critics Circle.

AUTUMN AT THE ARBORETUM

With the welcome change of seasons comes one of the Dallas Arboretum’s most anticipated autumn events: Autumn at the Arboretum. The highlight of the Dallas fall festival is the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village, which is created with more than 75,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash by the talented horticulture team. This year, to continue with the ongoing Texas theme, the display will be recreated into an Old Texas Town in the Pecan Grove. New in 2015 will be a Texas mosaic made of pumpkins.
