It’s that time of year! Time to celebrate a Texas classic ––
the State Fair of Texas— and enjoy the start of fall festivities.
New this year:
Illumination Sensation will illuminate the fountains
at Fair Park’s esplanade and the sky above with fireworks and other visual
wizardry… in a light show so spectacular, you’ll think you’re dreaming, thanks
to the show’s sponsor, Mattress Firm.
Lone Star Horse Spectacular: An equestrian tribute at
the Pan Am Arena celebrating our state’s rich history
A historical narrative of the six flags flown over Texas
since 1519, weaved into performance, music, and horse-led pageantry.
During the last weekend of the Fair (Oct. 17th
& 18th), more than 70 Texan breweries will make up the Craft
Beer Festival held inside the cotton bowl. You can sip and socialize with
local brew masters by the pint, or opt for the full festival experience with a
selection of Dallas-Fort Worth’s homegrown brews.
Every year boasts new deep-fried delicacies! The
chicken-fried lobster tail, served with lemon-butter champagne gravy, comes in
as the most expensive food item at the Fair this year. Campfire classic meets
the State Fair of Texas with the S’mores Beer… Sweet caramel notes, a touch of
vanilla, rich chocolate and a marshmallow dress us up this milk stout beer. The
Pumpkin Spice Donut Chip, served with ice cream and cinnamon candied maple
bacon, combines all the flavors of fall into a decadent dessert.
John Stamos joined the Beach Boys for a surprise appearance
at the L.A. county fair – we can only hope he’ll show up at the State Fair of
Texas. Regardless, you can catch the Beach Boys on Oct. 11th.
With quick access to Woodall Rogers Freeway, you’re just 4
miles away from State Fair grounds at Museum Tower.
