Music Road Records debuts its new Third Thursdays concert series in Klyde Warren Park May 23 with a performance by Garrett Lebeau at 7:30 p.m. Music Road Records Third Thursdays will feature Texas based singer/songwriters and the series will run May 23, June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19 and end on October 17.

“Giant” Presence in Award Season

If you hear champagne corks popping in the Arts District, look a few blocks to the east of Museum Tower in the direction of the Dallas Theater Center.
The DTC will be well represented at the 58th Annual Drama Desk Awards to be held May 19th in New York. Its original production “Giant” just garnered the lion’s share of nominations, nine total, including “Outstanding Musical,” and nods to Kate Baldwin for “Outstanding Actress in a Musical” and Brian d’Arcy James, for “Outstanding Actor in a Musical.”
The play, based on the iconic novel by Edna Ferber, debuted in January 2012 at the Wyly Theatre then made its way to The Public Theater in New York where it drew critical acclaim.

Since its opening on December 1, 2012, the Perot Museum has seen nearly 600,000 guests and continues to draw in new and repeat visitors. Now that the April showers have passed, the Perot Museum springs to life in May.

Klyde Warren Park has a new president!  On May 2, the Park announced that its new leader would be Tara Green.  

Just outside the doors of Museum Tower, the beautiful 5-acre Park is almost a part of our front lawn. It's an important part of the city center neighborhood and with the new leadership we are certain there will be even more exciting things to come.

Dallas Returns For a Third Season

J.R. Ewing might be gone, but Dallas is coming back for a third season.


After an impressively long hiatus, Dallas returned to TNT in 2012 with strong support from loyal fans. Though viewership varied during the second season, hitting 3.8 million viewers a week, 4.9 million tuned in to pay their final respects to the infamous patriarch of the Ewing clan -- J.R.
